Restore backup

Post by myfahim »

Hi...I am using Redhat Linux 5.5 and Cacti-0.8.6. I have backup my old system's cacti-sql-backup and rra directory.
Then I have stopped HTTPD, CROND, SNMPD and restore both backups. Then used "chown -R cactiuser rra/ log/".
After restart HTTPD, CROND, SNMPD when I tried to login my cacti it asked me as a new installation thing. And here it shows successful everything.

But in the login form when I put my username and password it shows me "Invalid User Name/Password Please Retype". I tried my old password, my old system's password and also initial level username and password (username: admin, password: admin). But I failed to login :(

Please help me.

Hey...login is ok...everything except graph is ok. I mean, all settings of my old system is now in new system. In the Console -> Devices path, status is UP. But in the Graph it is not coming. Even the graph box is not showing. If I add new device here, its graph is coming.

In Graph Source Properties the following showing:

/usr/bin/rrdtool graph - \

Does the output stem from a broken graph or from a working? I need both!
Then, you may run both commands from cli, piping the output to e.g. test.png. You may receive errors that are important for me

hi....i have got the solution. the reason was... the version of rrdtool. the old system's rrdtools version was different with the one. now everything is ok. thanks.

i have reinstalled the same rrdtool as old system. as far i know there is another solution: if i could take backup rra as xml. but i dont know the command to execute backup converting as *.rrd.xml and restore to *.rrd

could u plz tell me both command....

1st link of my sig shows a complete script to do so (see RRDTool chapter, I suppose). I hope that people try to read (and understand) documentation before giving up; sigh. It's almost all in there ...
