Thresholds not working with upgrade

I upgraded from .8.7e to 7i and noticed that all of my thresholds were no longer updating. They still had the current version pre-upgrade. When I try to create a new threshold. I get a save error. What I had to do is uninstall thold and then re-install it. After recreating my thresholds and applying them to the hosts, it works correctly.

Why does upgrading break the thresholds?
