I'm still in the process of installing cacti. I followed the installation docs upto step 7 and loaded /cacti/index.php in browser it said failed to open 'auth/include/auth.php'
so I downloaded it, but couldn't find any installation instructions for it. So I guessed as best I could and copied it to:
/usr/local/lib/php/

tried to browse to /cacti/index.php again, stated users db not there, so I created it and dumped sql/db.sql to it. and got this error message

ERROR 1136 at line 52: Column count doesn't match value count at row 1

browseing to /cacti/index.html with username/password admin always says invalid username/password

So where do I go from here? Where are the instructions to install php-auth?

I kind of doubt the version of php-auth on the raxnet webpage would work with the current version of cacti since it is heavily patched.

Since you are doing a new install, my suggestion is to delete all of your cacti stuff and start from scratch. As long as you import the database correctly (described in INSTALL), and untar the archive correctly; it should work fine.

If you still get any errors in your browser please paste them here, so I can look into it further.
