PHP Fatal Error Allocating Memory

Post by paintballer4lfe »

I recently installed cacti and its required applications to properly run.

Whenever i go to *****/cacti/install to install it for the first time i get a PHP error.

I went to the error log and it says this:

Code: Select all

[22-Dec-2011 20:40:48] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 261904 bytes) in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\cacti\cacti\lib\adodb\adodb.inc.php on line 833
Anyone know of a way to fix this issue so i can continue my installation?

Edit your php.ini files and increase the memory_limit variable, then restart apache/IIS. Also, if installing by hand, make sure you have installed your database SQL file before opening the web site.

I have tuned up my memory_limit to 512M, but im still getting the same error:

Code: Select all

[23-Dec-2011 07:41:59] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 261904 bytes) in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\cacti\cacti\lib\adodb\adodb.inc.php on line 833
should i give it an even larger amount of memory?

This is your problem.

Sounds like you need to reinstall cacti, well at least the database portions.
