i am trying to get cacti to graph traffic:
there i get this:
Maximum Value [traffic_in]
The maximum value of data that is allowed to be collected.
Maximum Value [traffic_out]
The maximum value of data that is allowed to be collected.
Custom Data [Template: Interface - Traffic]
Index Type
Index Value
Output Type ID
what do i have to fill in into the last 3 sections, index type etc?
creating graphs from template

Use the interface queries to graph traffic. Once you have your device added, open it under "Devices" At the bottom, you will see a section for queries, make sure the snmp - interface query is added. Then click add graphs in the upper-right corner. It will give you a list of your interfaces, check the one's you want, and click "create" in the lower-right corner. *poof* you have graphs, well if everything works right you do. :-)
Those three things will automatically get filled in by the query.

when i goto graph managment, and check 1 of the traffic graphs, turn debug mode on i see this:
although the verbose query looks ok:
