missing data source from graph template

Post by dannyb86 »

im having problems with the default interface bits template. our old graphs are displayin the same info for inbound and outbound traffic. any new hosts are fine. i verified that the DS traffic_in and DS traffic_out exist still in the old rrd files but i cant select the traffic_in source on the graph its not in the list. the debut of the graph shows a DEF for the traffic_out but not for traffic_in like the working one. any ideas on how i can modify the older graphs to work again. thanks in advance

Please study the graph template and find out, if both data sources are used there

So something happened to the "old" graphs.
You might "Change Graph Template" and select the current one to "copy it over" in hope to get things resolved.
But this is just a try; to be honest, I fear that this won't work.
Of course, assuming that the "old data source" is still available, you may manually select one graph after the other and apply the mssing data source by selecting it from the dropdown menu.

Bad. When the data source is missing, then you will have to recreate the whole graph.

Gandalf,

Is that the only solution? I have similar issue. Somehow, my graphs are not showing the InBound graphs. When I clicked on the pull-down to select the InBound, it does not exist. I have double-check my Data Template and traffic_in and traffic_out are both there. On my graph template, for the InBound, I have selected the traffic_in and for the OutBound, I have selected traffic_out. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated...Thanks!!!

I can't tell exactly. If your answer is exactly like the one of the OP, the answer will be exactly the same.
I'd like to understand how you got rid of those entries from the template. The default setup of cacti does nit inlcude such an error.

It would help to know, if the rrd files include both data query items.
