Syslog 1.22 - e-mail notification issues

Post by pmacct »

Hi all,

I've recently upgraded from 1.21 to 1.22. After the upgrade my threshold alerts are not sending e-mail notifications when re-alert cycle is set. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this ?

Version 1.22-2 has been released to correct this. After upgrading, you need to run syslog_fix_warnings.php script.

Hi,

Upgraded to 1.22-2, but the issue remains. If I disable re-alert cycle, I get the e-mail notifications.

Thanks.

TheWitness,

When I set re-alert cycle for the threshlod type alerts, I don't get the e-mail notifications. Even if I set re-alert to 5 min. If I set re-alert cycle to "Not Set", then I get notifications.

Note that even though I don't receive e-mails with re-alert cycle set, I do see the alerts in the "Alert Log" tab.

I see. I'll have to thrash the author one more time. Since incorporating this feature, there have been quite a few little bugs.

If it worth mentioning, this feature was functional in 1.21.

Unfortunately I don't have the required skills to troubleshoot this :(. I saw some diffs in functions.php between 1.21 and 1.22 (1.21 has the syslog_log_alarm function), so I copied the 1.21 version to 1.22 version, but nothing changed. I hope you'll have the time to look into it, it's really a useful feature.

Thanks, bug ID is 0002126.

I also have another issue non-related to this. According to this post: http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=45953, I have to go through the password reset procedure in order to be able to login with my user. However when I try to reset my password I get the message that the user/e-mail address doesn't exist. If I try to register the username, I get the message that the user/e-mail address is already taken.

I sent an e-mail to the forums board administrator (forums@cacti.net) about this, but the message sending failed because the mailbox doesn't exist. Can you please check this?

Hello all,

I got the same issue on CatiEZ v0.7
The syslog alert feature didn't send mail.

Do anyone have the solution on this?

Thank you in advance,
DQM
