Query directly to rrdtool database - Is it possible?

Post by DuPark »

Is there a way to make a query directly to rrdtool database from a remote machine, like I was
using a db2 client to connect into a remote database and make a query?
How can I do that?
I need the informations collected by Cacti is available in another machine.
One way would be export data to a csv file and then treat that file and insert the data into another database.
But if I could do the query directly to the rrdtool database, the things would be easier.
Regards.

Polled (nearly raw) data is stored in RRDfile (*.rrd). It's not in MySQL database.
But if you use DSStats plugin, you can retrieve summary data which is stored in Cacti's database from another machine.
