Installer: Why /cacti/ sub folder required?

I was able to get Cacti up and running using the installer (thanks). I fought with it for a bit, it ended up being that it requires me to point IIS to one folder up from the "cacti" folder like this:

c:\websites\

when I would rather have cacti be the root of this IIS site:

c:\websites\cacti

Why this is important to me is that my url is already cacti.domain.com and cacti.domain.com/cacti looks a little redundant. Is there any way to point IIS to the root of the 'cacti' folder? When I do that I get:

"No input file specified."

If I switch it back so IIS points to the 'c:\websites\' folder and open this URL (cacti.domain.com/cacti/) all is fine again.

It installs into a sub-folder so not to touch any existing files on a web server.

You can change/move the folder anywhere you wish. you'll need to edit /cacti/include/config.php and modify the path accordingly.

I had a chance to go look and config.php only contains database credentials and session name. Where is the path defined then? Thanks.

Sorry, been testing 0.8.8 which has it removed from config.php it appears. Anyways its the $config['url_path'] variable one needs to update. Another place to check is in the cacti settings table and make sure the path_webroot has properly been detected by Cacti.

Did you update the php.ini doc_root field?
Does a phpinfo file work on the website once its been moved?
