Is there a step-by-step for getting .net counters graph?

Post by SpaceM »

Hello all,

I've have a number of custom .Net counters on Windows. There seems to be an "easy" way to get data for pre-existing counters (like CPU etc etc) from windows but there are no instructions for getting custom counters graphed. I am using SNMP service to expose the counters.

Could someone provide a step-by-step for getting a graph in cacti?

Thank you,
Oleg

If you want to create graph by single OID:
- Walkthrough: My First Data Template
- Walkthrough: My First Graph Template

Otherwise, additionally:

I think I asked the wrong question. I have custom .net counters and I don't think they are exposed by snmp. Is there a tutorial on how I can expose my counters (I think I need to create/update MIBs and match them with OID's of my counters).

I am very ignorant on this topic so I need all the help I can get.

Thank you,

I guess I also need a way to find out the OIDs of my custom counters on windows.

Thanks,

Looked into using http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=25600 yet?

Otherwise you'll have to write a script which will query the performance counter(s) and return it for Cacti.
