Post by jjteo »

Hi ,
I have installed cacti according to the guide by BSOD2600. However when i run cacti and get into my localhost/cacti Settings -> Paths , it says that cacti is unable to find the RRDTool Binary Path and PHP Binary Path. Does anyone have the same problem as me?

I have attached an image regarding the error

Thanks :D

1) do those paths/files really exist?
1a) if so, then the NTFS permissions are incorrect and the web service account doesn't have read/execute permissions on those folders. The installation guide did cover this.

2) Um , according to your guide the only NTFS permission that i have to change is on C:\PHP\Uploadtemp and C:\PHP\Session to grant Modify rights to the IUSR_ and IIS_WPG users for only files in the directory.
Give the user who will be running the scheduled task, Modify rights to: c:\php\extras\mibs\.index
Both IUSR_ and IIS_WPG users will also need read permissions on C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cacti\ and its subfolders.
Give the COMPUTERNAME\IUSR_ and COMPUTERNAME\IIS_WPG users Read & Execute permissions to the file C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe.
Give the IUSR_ and IIS_WPG users modify permissions to the folders C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cacti\log and C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cacti\rra.

Am i right?

EDIT: I guess i will just try a reinstall . Thanks

Thanks

Right. Also could try the windows installer which does this all for you.

What OS? each version of windows changes around the IUSR accounts/groups.
