2 Graphs are created, but I want 1

Post by danger89 »

Hi people,

I got a problem with creating a graph in Cacti.

When I create a graph from a host and I select only 1 ethernet port (via Data Query [SNMP - Interface Statistics]) and select Interface - Traffic (bits/sec) Graph.
Cacti will create 2 (!) graphs, so 2 data sources. This is very strange, because only one is usable the other one is not configured. When I create a new traffic graph for only 1 ethernet port, I must delete the not configured data source everytime...

The other data source is just working OK, what do I wrong?

Please, check my 2 attachments:
  • create_graph_page.PNG (while making a new graph)
  • creates_2_graphs.PNG (Cacti notices me he created 2 graphs)
  • not_configured_data_source.PNG
(1 of the 2 aren't configured and must be manually deleted)
Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Melroy van den Berg

I solved my own issue.

Apparently it wasn't necessary to select the graph template when you select the data source while creating a new graph for a host...
However when you want to create a graph which doesn't has a data source, you need to select the graph template, that is why I was confused.

Thanks anyways.
