how do i add new privet MIB's to CACTI.

Post by SeaSpray »

Hello

I'm a lab manager for the QA team at a small hardware startup; we are now developing our next generation Wi-Fi N standard outdoor equipment.

I installed CACTI on one of my Linux server and was very happy with what I get from all the Switches I have in the lab.
Now what I want to do is to have CACTI monitor our appliances, this should be easy as we are the makers and we have all the MIB's that might be useful to me.
What I need to know is how do I add my MIB's to CACTI and have CACTI create a Graphs out of those.

My Cacti is running on Ubuntu 11.4
How do I compile the MIB's in to a form CACTI can use and understand?
Is there a manual for this or some written process for this?

Thank you.

Cacti doesn't require MIB compilation.

Take a look at the template documentation: http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:3_templates
