(solved) Syslogging problem

Post by moimoibis »

Hello
I actually use cacti Version 0.8.7g and Thold Version 0.4.1.
I have a problem with the syslogging option.
My thold alerts are not sysloged. My syslog viewer doesn’t catch anything on the port 514.
But I can see the thold alert in the cacti log.

Can anyone help me?

Sorry for my English^^

Problem solved does not help in this case. In the future, if you mark something 'solved', you really need to provide an explanation to others as to what you did for future reference. My guess is that it could have been:

rsyslog not listening on UDP port 514
iptables blocking port 514
rsyslog not running

also, the same for 'syslog-ng'.
