baseline threshold alerts

Post by mstbone67a »

So having an issue with trying to get baseline threshold alerts to work.
We can use thold with high/low values and set the Baseline Trigger Count to 3 so it will show up in the CactiThold.log
We are then using an ITO agent that monitors the log for "3 out of 3" and it sends this to our NOCC.

So we want to use baseline monitoring as we can't solidly tell what the upper threshold might be day to day or lower, so we are looking for traffic that deviates by a percentage on our router/switches.

I can get the baseline to send out emails when it deviates but it will not chg the trigger #.
Also curious if how it is not showing the value of the threshold might be causing the problem.
I also never see the thold page change the status.

here is some output from the server cactithold.log and the versions. Let me know what else I need to provide, if someone can help.

In the example below I am using a port with traffic and stopping the traffic, to trigger the alert.

ref in the past = 86400
time range = 300
dev up = 50%
dev down = 50%
Baseline Trigger Count =3

thold page
router -csr11 - Traffic - Te11/3 [traffic_out] 4047 Baseline 247218834.91 Enabled

grep "11/3" CactiThold.log
