Help with Syslog "Select Host(s)...

Hello,

I'm new to cacti and would like some help. I just installed the syslog plugin. When I select the syslog tab there is already a list of devices in the "Select Host(s)" box, but I want to add a device that is not in that list... How can I do that.

Greg,

The only way a device will show up in the list is if it sends a syslog message to the server. If you have DNS turned on it will try and query a dns server for the host name to be in the list. Otherwise it will put in the IP address of the device. You may also populate the hosts file to relate the hostnames with IP's
