collecting data from DB

Post by colective »

Hi

we would like to use Cacti but we cannot use snmp because of strict network policy and lack of snmp support
only place where we can store trend data from our IBM caching proxy and our applications are in DB (oracle, mysql whatever)

so, question is..
can cacti retrieve data from database and show those data as graphs?

if yes, do you have some know how and how should i do that :)

i'm totally new in cacti and every help would be more than welcome..

regards

This can be done by using a script that retrieves the data from your db tables. Find some examples at 1st link of my sig. Those examples do NOT use a db to fetch data from, but they show the principles of creating custom scripts
