CDP plugin and integration with Weathermap

Dear Friends,

I have been using Cacti since few months and I believe that my search
for a good network monitoring software is over. Currently using 0.8.7f
with PIA and lots of plugins.

I have been working on using CDP for network discovery and a crude
version is in place. Using SNMP++ wrote a discovery module which generates
configuration file as needed by Network Weathermap. Though the default
layout is not perfect and optimal, but with minor adjustments it works fine.

I am not sure if Cacti development team is working on CDP plugin and layout
stuff. And also I am not sure if my work can be used directly. I hope to develop
a usable plugin for Cacti and currently working on it and it'll take considerable
amount of time for an amateur like me (learning by going through plgexample and
mactrack plugins).

I am interested to share my work with Cacti development team and see if
I can contribute something to it.

I was wondering if I'd be able to get a copy of this, it's just what I've been looking for and I don't mind helping out with the PHP wherever I can. My network changes more often then I'd like (every month) so this would be great if it would rebuild the graph on demand. then I could adjust it via the weathmap editor. I have about 100 cisco devices spread out between 4 primary sites, and a dozen or so tiny sites.

Dear Friends,

I've been trying to work on implementing the CDP discovery plugin in PHP.
In its current form its written in C++ as mentioned in my earlier post.
After getting in touch with BrownieBraun, we felt its better to re-write the
plugin in PHP for cross-platform support and easy integration with Cacti PIA.

The problem is that its getting difficult to find time. I've made a brief document
about the algorithm and data structures used.

Let me know if any one is interested to collaborate on this plugin.
