Data type conversion while polling.

Is it possible to read values like:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.1337.1.101.1 = STRING: "11383893"
Into integer counter data sources? Simply setting COUNTER in the Data Source Item apparently isn't enough, because it gives just "U"s...
The values in the snmpd come from a simple exec <oid> with a cat command.

It turned out that setting the type is actually enough .
