Some questions about Advanced Ping

I have installed Advanced Ping and it have graphed beautiful picture.

But i can't and stand some lines in the picture.
As follows:

1、who can tell me what's the meaning of “Unknown”, what is it stand for?
2、who can tell me what's the meaning of gray line or area in the picture;what is it stand for?
