|query_ifDescr| not working as intended in Graph Title

Post by petro1987 »

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a cacti problem but here's the situation that I'm facing:

I use this "|host_description| - Traffic - |query_ifDescr|" to the graph title.

The title I'm getting is: SWI.5500G-EI 24p - PDC - Traffic - GigabitEthernet for every GigabitEthernet port in this switch. What I was especting was something like SWI.5500G-EI 24p - PDC - Traffic - GigabitEthernet1/0/1, for instance.

This is especially weird considering when I go to create new graph screen it shows me:

4227649 Down GigabitEthernet1/0/4 GigabitEthernet1/0/4 gigabitEthernet(117) 0 00:22:57:74:2A:44

The Description is the third field.

Anyone knows how I can solve this problem?

Have you tried |query_ifAlias| instead?

Hi, thanks for the help.

I just tried using |query_ifAlias| but even though the ifAlias field is in the query xml (interface.xml) that doesn't seem to work. The |query_ifAlias| is being interpreted as a literal string and not the variable as it should.
