To move a graph.......

Post by Frothingdog »

This is tricky to explain so please bare with me...

We work for a Wireless ISP, so we have to monitor all the wireless radios on our network.

Now we have some new radios where the access point side keeps track of all the registered client radios traffic, errors and packets per second.

However the ACCESS POINT does not tell me the client side Wireless Signal, so this means that I have to poll the CLIENT radio for that info directly.

So...to get the clients traffic/errors/pss I poll the AP, and to get the clients signal I have to poll the client radio (CPE).

The problem with this is that if there was say 100 clients registered to the AP we would have to scroll through 100 graphs to find that client under the AP in the Tree.

But if there was a way to move that clients traffic/error/pps graphs under the clients own tree, that would simply things alot.

So what I'm asking is, is there a way to move a graph from a device with the IP 172.16.10.1 to a device in the tree with the IP of 172.16.10.50? without affecting the graphs polling?

Complicated and ass-backwards I know but there is no way around it because the CPE does not have a OID that relates to the data needed to be polled.

Hope I was clear enough.

Cheers and thanks

In case CPE and AP are related in e.g. IP, hostname or description, the request can be handled by AUTOM8. You will have to define a rule that reflects the relationship to place all related stuff into the correct tree.
