Problem with Spine and Cacti 0.8.7g

Post by schrievers »

Hello,

I have problems with my cacti 0.8.7g and spine.
I don't no what it is i have read everything on the net to find the fix.
But nothing helps. I hope that this form can help my.

Problem is:

I have a problem with spine.

When i check out the log file:

02/08/2011 01:44:04 PM - SPINE: Poller[0] ERROR: Spine Timed Out While Processing Hosts Internal
02/08/2011 01:44:04 PM - SPINE: Poller[0] ERROR: Spine Timed Out While Processing Hosts Internal

02/08/2011 01:44:00 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 298 seconds exceeded. Exiting.

Also the cpu of the system is very high. I now that the use of SNMP v3 more cpu load generat then SNMP v2. But a CPU load more than 60% is not normal i think.

Some system information:

Cacti Version 0.8.7g
Cacti OS unix (FreeBSD 8.1)
SNMP Version NET-SNMP version: 5.5
RRDTool Version RRDTool 1.4.x

Poller informatio:

Type spine
Items Action[0]: 3946
Action[1]: 1
Action[2]: 157
Total: 4104

Thank you for your help already.

Jorg

First i install Cacti + spine from the Freebsd ports.
But i saw dat they use a very instabel cacti version 0.8.7F

After some trying with 0.8.7F i upgrade to 0.8.7G then i use the SPin software of freebsd ports.
This give my also problems zo i upgrade to cacti-spine-0.8.7G.

I have use the install guide.
First was the problem that only the SNMP V2 graphs works.
But i also need snmp V3. So i search the net for a fix.
After some changes made also snmp V2 didn't even work.
I have check the log file but i can't see the problem.
everything looks oke.

If you need more info please let me now.

Hello,

It's working again.
What i did was a extra rule added in de crontab file

*/5 * * * * cacti /usr/local/bin/php /usr/local/share/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1

after added this rule the problem was fix.
SNMP V2 and SNMP v3 are working fine.

Thanks for your help.
