multiple problems with cacti

Post by colleent »

Hello - I am trying to get cacti working on my ubuntu 10.10 laptop. I think my install went OK, and initially I was able to see graphs with data for "localhost"/cacti server. However, I shut down the laptop, and when I powered it on today I see no data - just "Nan". I am seeing the following in /var/log/cacti/cacti.log:

Code: Select all

01/30/2011 10:27:30 PM - SYSTEM STATS: Time:0.1066 Method:cmd.php Processes:1 Threads:N/A Hosts:1 HostsPerProcess:1 DataSources:0 RRDsProcessed:0
01/30/2011 10:28:00 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 298 seconds exceeded. Exiting.
01/30/2011 10:28:00 PM - SYSTEM STATS: Time:0.1058 Method:cmd.php Processes:1 Threads:N/A Hosts:1 HostsPerProcess:1 DataSources:0 RRDsProcessed:0

I did some brief googling and didn't find anything particularly enlightening. Nor was http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:4_help ... #debugging very helpful.

Also, I attempted to add my linksys router as a device and add a ping latency graph. However I do not see this host in the "default tree", and can't seem to see any graphs for this device, even though it appears to be defined under "Graph Management" and "Console" -> "Graph Trees" -> "Default Tree" Tree items.

Thanks in advance.

I accept your criticism, but you didn't tell us anything about your findings. This would be indeed a good starting point to get more ideas about your issue
