[solved] Cacti upgrade : 0.8.7d > 0.8.7g

Post by gdieudonne »

Hi,

I've got a problem upgrading from cacti v0.8.7d to v0.8.7g.
Please find my config below :
Operating System: Windows Server 2003 SP2
Webserver: IIS
MySQL: 5.1.34
PHP: 5.2.9-2
RRDTool (Cygwin or Win32 version): 1.2.X
Plugin Architecture: 2.4-1

Here is the thing :
0) I copied the cacti-0.8.7g dir to the active Cacti root directory, plus the rra/resource files and finally granted the logs & rra directories the rights they had in the old install
1) I could not change my active directory name (process using while I stopped the IIS + MySQL services); to do my upgrade, I changed the web site's root directory to the new dir : cacti-0.8.7g
2) I launched again the MySQL + IIS services after having changed the include/global.php file according to my parameters
3) Everything worked fine, until I arrived to the install/upgrade.php file where I got the error "cgi_error.txt" at the end of the procedure you'll find enclosed.

You'll find attached the PDF file for the tech support.

Please note that I had the same error running the "Rebuild poller cache" script doing this with my Explorer (Firefox) while it works fine while using the cli.
Would there be a way doing my upgrade with CLI?

1) Did you look on Google for that FastCGI error and a solution?
2) Running the latest fastcgi, which is 1.5?
3) why'd you have to use a new www root for the new install? With IIS shutdown, no files should've been in use.

4) once you do get 0.8.7g installed, install PIA 2.9 as it contains all the 0.8.7g patches.

OK finally I got it working.
I added the following lines in the fcgiext.ini file :
RequestTimeout=500
ActivityTimeout=900
under the [PHP] flag.
