Good Morning,
I am a new cacti user so please feel free to berate and belittle me. I have installed Cacti Version 0.8.7g from the windows installer provided by BSOD2600. I have also imported the host and graph templates I believe correctly as they show up when I add a new device. We have built this server on an HP Proliant server running Windows 2003 R2 standard edition on service pack 2. We have a large deployment of Canopy devices running version 9.5 and would like to accomplish the following with Cacti.
1) Auto Discover and add devices as they are installed using a pre-determined set of criteria for graphing.
2) Make bulk or specific configuration changes via snmp to the Canopy Subscriber Modules or Access Points.
3) Obtain the the DHCP binding tables off of our Cisco 3560 routers and save them to be utilized later.
As of now I am running into a problem with the data in the graphs not being populated. When I go into graph management and turn on debugging I get the following output.
RRDTool Command:
C:/rrdtool/rrdtool.exe graph - \
--imgformat=PNG \
--start=-86400 \
--end=-300 \
--title="Brad Waibel - Temperature" \
--base=1000 \
--height=120 \
--width=500 \
--alt-autoscale-max \
--lower-limit=0 \
--vertical-label="" \
--slope-mode \
--font TITLE:12: \
--font AXIS:8: \
--font LEGEND:10: \
--font UNIT:8: \

GPRINTAVERAGE:"Average\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINTMAX:"Max\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINTMIN:"Min\:%8.2lf %s"
RRDTool Says:
ERROR: opening 'C:/Apache2/htdocs/cacti/rra/8/22.rrd': No such file or directory
From the cacti log file I get the following over and over again:
12/27/2010 12:15:00 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] WARNING: Scheduled Task is out of sync with the Poller Interval! The Poller Interval is '300' seconds, with a maximum of a '300' second Scheduled Task, but 600 seconds have passed since the last poll!

An example of the poller cache is below:

Any help that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. In addition to this if anyone has any advice for obtaining a Cacti consultant that would also be greatly appreciated.

Re: New windows setup not graphing as expected
With cacti, always start with the basics and then add complexity.
1) Go back to the cmd.php poller.
2) Does the templates which come with cacti function properly on devices? e.g. interface, cpu, disk. If not, then you need to fix those underlying issues first before trying to get 3rd party scripts working.
3) the cacti scheduled task is properly running every 5 minutes?
As for your wishes:
1) you already searched the script forum/template repository for the canopy templates?
2) You'll need to install the PIA 2.9 architecture. Also will want autom8, discovery, mactrack, and thold. plenty of others at http://docs.cacti.net/plugins
3) Cacti does not send out SNMP SET commands. One could always write a plugin though...
