Can Cacti do this?

Post by pcmm »

I've got CactiEZ instaled and running well monintoring bandwidth usage and other statistics. but I want to do a few other things

1) graph the top X bandwidth users from the LAN
2) view the websites/domains visiters have been accessing

Can Cacti do this? if not is there a similar package that can? I know MRTG can do this but it's a pain to setup! I'm really liking CactiEZ so far!

so far I'm loving Cacti (beats Orion NTA by a mile so far and the cost is much better!)

top X => see DSSTATS plugin
I don't understand the second request. What exactly do you want to see? The website with most user hits? From were do you want to take that data (e.g. do you have access to those targets)

For the second item I want to be able to see things like who went to facebook today, ot how many IP's went to facebook. How much band width that cost etc. I'm used to seeing this information using things like netflow (too expensive and painful to setup)

this usually does not require access to the target servers. the router (in this case an ASA 5510) would know this as it has to pass on the request
