I am trying to attach to a baystack 450-24t and I do connect:
SNMP Information
System:BayStack 450-24T HW:RevL FW:V1.48 SW:v4.5.1.2 ISVN:2
Uptime: 2399895066 (277 days, 18 hours, 22 minutes)
Hostname:
Location:
Contact:
However when I try to Create Graphs for the host it gets:
This data query returned 0 rows, perhaps there was a problem executing this data query. You can run this data query in debug mode to get more information.
In debug mode I see:
+ Running data query [1].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1'
+ No SNMP data returned
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
So from the linux server I run:
snmpwalk -v 2c myhost -c mysnmpstring .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1
And it apears to return just fine:

Re: Problems with connection to baystack 450-24t
1. what snmp version you having cacti use for that device?
2. Try increasing the snmp timeout
3. cmd or spine poller?

Re: Problems with connection to baystack 450-24t
I found how to fix this. I needed to switch Cacti to use SNMP Protocol Version 1 and then it worked.

Re: Problems with connection to baystack 450-24t
I just picked up a nortel baystack 450-24t and can't connect to it via the console port. I've got 3 RJ45-to-serial connectors: 2 straight through, and 1 null ... i need to know what cable setup to use the hyperterminal settings ... help me too

Re: [solved] Problems with connection to baystack 450-24t
It is a special cable from Baystack. Not a null modem (DB-9 (RS-232-D) Console/Comm Port Connector). The settings are 8-n-1 9600
