Do i need to turn on Apache to collect system stats

Hi, do i need to keep my Apache server on to collect the system stats of my own system or my networked system by poller.php which is running in every 5 minutes.

You only have to keep the apache server up on the Cacti Server if you want to view/configure anything.

There is no reason to have an apache server running on a remote host, as far as Cacti is concerned.

While this is correct, there are situations were it comes in useful to run a cgi script on a remote system to fetch data
