Installation of cacti

Post by Jacks »

Hy,

I like to install cacti-0.8.7g, after the installation on a sles 9 system, I get folow message:
  • Error
You have created a new database, but have not yet imported the 'cacti.sql' file. At the command line, execute the following to continue:
    mysql -u test -p test < cacti.sql
This error may also be generated if the cacti database user does not have correct permissions on the cacti database. Please ensure that the cacti database user has the ability to SELECT, INSERT, DELETE, UPDATE, CREATE, ALTER, DROP, INDEX on the cacti database.
But, i have imported the cacti.sql and also I set the correct permissions!
By installing the 0.8.7f vesion, I don't have any problems!

I hope you can help me!

We unfortunately are facing this issue now on several systems. Currently, there seems to be no pattern that makes sense. Please tell us, which version of MySQL, PHP and which OS/version you are using

All, you did notice, that we shifted some customization parameters to include/config.php? You did enter all required data there, and not in global.php? When using PIA, please remember to copy config.php.dist to config.php and again apply the customization for database and url_path!

Please revert to the lib/database.php from the 0.8.7e release. If it is the issue that I am aware of it's a PHP class bug. More recent versions of PHP do not have the issue.

Backing off to the 0.8.7e version of this file will fix the problem, but will cause some compatibility issues. However, only with syslog v1.04 when the database exists on a foreign system.

to Gandalf,

Yes I set the parameters on include/config.php before I write this problem.
But I get the error and I can not understand why.
