How do I create more graphs for this host - it's grayed out
After I 'create graphs for this host', that graph template is no longer clickable for all the interfaces I couldn't check on the first page.
How do I create graphs for the other 4 pages of interfaces?
Thanks,
Greg

cacti version?
screenshot?
If the items are grayed out, Cacti thinks there is a data source already created for the item.

Version 0.8.7e
I agree the documentation indicates that grayed out means that it thinks a graph has been created, but the reality is that as soon as it creates even 1 graph it grays out the option for creating any more of that graph type for that device.

Interface traffic does not belong where you have it. Delete it from graph templates. This is a training issue.

I'm not adding the interfaces to the template. I added the device then selected create graphs for this host. I think the template part at the top is just asking me which template I want to use to generate graphs with. Right?

In that screenshot, you're unable to tell cacti to start graphing G1i/31 through G1i/43?

I can select the interfaces on page 2 that are shown in the screenshot, but the Interface-Traffic graph template is grayed out.
It appears to me that Cacti checks to see if a graph template is being used for ANY interface for this device, and then grays it out for all the rest.
So the first time I created graphs for this host, I selected all the interfaces on the first page and the graph template Interface-traffic. Then clicked create. It created a traffic graph for int g1/1-g1/30 as shown in the screenshot below.
So in addition to graying out the graph template for all future interface selections, it also grays out g1/1-g1/30 for all the other graph templates too.
It's like it makes a global decision for the device that if the template or interface has been used in any combination, you can't use it.

Ah, then this is a training issue as TheWitness originally stated.ghartung13 wrote:I can select the interfaces on page 2 that are shown in the screenshot, but the Interface-Traffic graph template is grayed out.
For "Data Query [SNMP - Interface Statistics]" one uses the "Select a graph type:" under that table NOT the ones at the top in "Graph Templates". This goes for ANY Data Query template which has more than 1 associated graph template.

Re: How do I create more graphs for this host - it's grayed
There seems to be some confusion, as I see the same thing. However, what I see is that once the basic "in/out bit" graph has been created for an interface, other interface graphs, like errors in/out, can't be created because the interface is greyed out. However, if instead of creating the basic 'in/out bits' graph for a given interface, one begins by creating another type of graph like 'in/out bit with total b/w' or 'errors in/out', the interface is NOT greyed out, and other graph types can be added after that.

Greying out occurs, when the related data source has been created. This should prevent creating a second graph when it's already there. But the detection is based on the data source, not the graph
