Graphs not being generated

Post by sangfroid »

Hi,

I just installed Cacti in my Fedora box. I was able to do installation successfully. However, it is not generating any graphs. I have not installed spine though.

In the /etc/snmpd/snmp.conf, I have simply added the following line

Code: Select all

rocommunity public 127.0.0.1
and have also restarted snmpd. But still it is not generating any graphs. Also in /etc/crontab, I have the following line:

Code: Select all

*/5 * * * * cactiuser php /var/www/html/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1

Do you have any ideas what could be going wrong and how to diagnose it ?

Thanks.

well, while digging, I found that snmpd is listening on some port called smux (199).May be this is the problem

How to configure it to listen at 161 ?

couldnt understand why the documentation of cacti is so unclear... :evil:

Devices Tab, choose a device, change port.
Or Devices Tab, check all devices with the ceckbox right, choose "change snmp options" from the drop&down box.

default port is 161 in cacti. you can change the default in settings/general
[size=67]Cacti version: 0.8.7e5
OS: FreeBSD 7.2
Plugin Architecture: 2.6
Plugins: aggregate 0.74, autom8 0.33, loginmod 1.0
