MAC Track Prepending Defined Delimiter to MAC Address

Post by drcryogen »

I am running Cacti 0.8.7e on RHEL 5 (64-bit) with MACTRACK 1.1. Everything is collecting find and I am getting the desired results with one exception. The delimiter character chosen in settings is being prepended on all of my MAC Addresses. It doesn't matter which delimiting character I choose (: or -). I've attached an image for reference.

Normally, I would classify this as aesthetic and more of an annoyance than anything. However, I think this may be causing vendor lookups for MAC addresses to fail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

That seems plausible. Unfortunately, in my own troubleshooting and research, I found that there was a new version of MAC Track, so I upgraded. Maybe if I have some time, I'll test this in the lab.

Thanks for your help!

It's likely the net-snmp version that you are using. You need to provide the following from your enviornments tech support page:

PHP-SNMP Support y/n
If Yes, what version of PHP
If no, or < 5.1, then run the snmpwalk against some mac addresses on the device and post the output.

Even though I upgraded to the latest version of MAC Track and it resolved my problem, I would be remiss if I didn't provide you answers to your questions in case this arrises for someone else.

PHP-SNMP Supprt = Yes
PHP Version = 5.1.6

For those old entries, they will disappear eventually. You could updating them using a sql script, but they will eventually be purged.
