ISP says T1 has 90% usage Cacti only shows 200K

Post by schilbiz »

Our ISP is saying that we have 90% usage on our T1 line but Cacti is only reporting 200K bytes per second Outbound.

I am completely new to Cacti but am liking what I am seeing so far. I haven't been able to find information that would explain the large discrepancy in what they are claiming is being used and what we show is being used.

Is it a SNMPv1 limitation? - I will try SNMPv2 right now.

A little info: - Running on Windows XP, using Cisco 2900 series routers.

-Cacti 0.8.7e
-CygWin 1.7.3-1
-Spine 0.8.7e
-Apache 2.2.14
-MySQL 5.0.88
-PHP 5.2.11
-Net-SNMP 5.5.0.2
-RRDTool 1.2.30
-GetIF 2.3.1

Thanks!

I forgot to ask a question; what is it that could be causing this, or what should I research into?

*Solved*

This is a simple conversion issue and I was reading the data incorrectly, Cacti is dead on.

Simple explanation:

1.544Mbps = ~197 Kilobytes (the Mbps on 1.544 is mega bits per second)

The readings of Cacti were around 191-195 Kilobytes which is ~97% usage.

Sorry to bother you, and thanks to anyone who took the time to read or think about it.
