Graphing between 2 remote locations

Post by bonj87 »

Im running cacti in one location, from here i have vpn's into 2 other locations. I can graph pings, WAN bits\sec.. etc from my site (A) to sites B and C.. is there a way to graph pings, WAN bits\sec from between sites B and C?
(all connected by point to point VPNs, but Cacti is only in one location.)

You'd have to either have a VPN between them for that. Otherwise, assuming your main office location which the sites have VPN'ed into route traffic between the various endpoints. If routing is enabled, then you'd have to write a script that would get invoked on lets say Site B to ping Site C (which would get routed through home office) and then return that data to Cacti. Basically, it's not going to be very easy.

Ok, why can't you use your existing scripts to ping each site along with SNMP for bandwidths, etc?

IMHO: is there any way to add the GW routers at B/C and read the interfaces statistics from snmp as an external OIDs, in this case you can add the router B and monitor the interface between B/C by its snmp OID as an external OID graphing.
