Poller Issue with Script-Server

Post by helge.wiethoff »

Hi Folks,

i am using cacti 0.8.7e und got some strange issue with the Script-Server. The RRD-File is written although the SNMP-Answer isnt there. The SNMP-Query is just in time...
Poller and Cron Interval is set to 5 Minutes. And the maximum Concurrent Poller Processes is set to 1.
Anyone have an idea?

Thanks,
Helge

What exactly is your problem? The script server answers to both requests. That seems too be ok. Are you worrying about the numbers that do not match between rrd update and script results?

Hi,
yepp. The script server answers correct, but the answer seems to be late. The log looks like if the rrd update is made just before the script server answer appears. Or is that irrelevant?

Don't count too much on the sequence in cacti.log. They all show the very same timestamp up to the second.
What is more important: Do the numbers fit your expectations? Does the graph look fine?

Hi gandalf,

thanks for your answer. Humm.. Its fustrating. There are quite a lot graphs i make with this script. They all look fine. But this graph doesnt. The outgoing-traffic is totally absent. so i took a look in the log und saw that the correct SNMP-Answer came "after" (this i know same second) the rrd-update.

I will clean up the script (a remake of http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=8050 ) and can post it if it brings me forward.

Greetings from Bochum ;-)

Unfortunately, I do not have access to such a system. But you may post your current script to have a try

Hi,

thanks for your support!
Today i found out that the RRA won't update correctly. I re-create the file and that's it... :o

The end of the story: I learned a lot ;-)
