thumbnail for map not created yet

Hello,

I have a problem with the weathermap plugin. When i click on the weathermap tab in order to see a thumbnail of the map, i have this message "(thumbnail for map not created yet)" . I made many researches in order to solve this problem and i realized that it is related to the permissions. i must give permissions to cactiuser in order to access the "output" folder located in the weathermap folder. I did write the command that gives permissions to cactiuser but still nothing is displayed but this message. So please if you have a solution to this problem, let me know about it.

Look in the cacti.log - if there are permissions problems with weathermap, there will be log entries.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I'm running the following:
Centos 5.2
Cacti Version 0.8.7e
SNMP Version NET-SNMP version: 5.3.2.2
RRDTool Version RRDTool 1.3.x
PHP Version 5.2.11
GD Version bundled (2.0.34 compatible)
cacti-plugin-0.8.7e-PA-v2.6

I've rebuild my cacti from scratch, only to end up with the same results. Its not a permission issue. I can create and update map manually from cli only.
Everything is working great with the updated versions, except weathermaps. I have weathermaps working of 4 other servers, however running later versions of cacti / plugin / and weathermap.

Anyone with solutions please?????

I am unable to create a new map or create a new map as a copy of an existing map at the editor's page.

Did you check the permissions are correct on the output and configs directories?

Did you look in the cacti.log for any weathermap errors?

What does the editor say when you try to create a map? (the screenshot is a completely normal front screen)

Did you check the permissions are correct on the output and configs directories?
I did. I think the output folder and configs folder need ot change the ownership from apache:apache to cacti:cacti?

Did you look in the cacti.log for any weathermap errors?

Nothing from cacti.log regards to weathermap sire.

What does the editor say when you try to create a map? (the screenshot is a completely normal front screen)
It has no response, however, the map name I keyed into the text box goes blank.

But for the editor, the configs directory should be writable by the web server, which it already is.

So next:

check for PHP errors in the apache error_log

Also, do you have selinux enabled? You would probably need to add some SElinux policy to allow apache to write to the configs directory (or disable selinux). Check the selinux audit log (in /var/log) for lines related to weathermap.

I have tried to change the file ownership to cacti:cacti, after restarted httpd service, this is the screen that I got from weathermap

Is it because I have to change the map_file.conf ownership to cacti as well? Because earlier the file was created by apache user.....

Should the chown command be

?????

Yes, after installing the OS, it comes with SELINUX automatically.

You should change the configs directory permissions back - they were correct before! It was the output directory that was incorrect.

Hopefully by now you have some map thumbnails though?

And once you change the configs permissions back, the editor maybe works?

I am able to create new map on the editor. My mistake, I have to name the file "map_name.conf" instead of "map_name". Yet, thumbnail still not created yet. Did I miss some step here while editing the map?

Whenever I click the refresh button, this is the screenshot.

Did I miss any step whenever I am editing a map? How can I save a thumbnail after finish editing it?
