Max Threshold minus 10 degrees

Post by C@ctiUser »

Perhaps this is out here somewhere and I am just not seeing it, but I was wondering if it is possible to take the value cacti is getting for a max threshold and subtract 10 degrees from it and use this as a template. For instance I have a server that Cacti pulls the Max Threshold of 95 degrees. I would like to statically set the "High threshold" to 85 degrees so that I get an email when the temperature is at or above 85 degrees, this way I have some time to work on the problem before the server hits the critical mark and possibly shuts down. Thanks

Yes, there is a fairly stable version 0.42 that includes an RPM provision. However, it may not work exactly as documented when the next release is done.

Perhaps this is a dumb question but is there a way to go |Threshold|-10 for the High Temp section in setting up the Threshold alert? Similar to how |host_name| is the Name of the server. I have taken a look at RPN and this seems a little too complicated for me to use, not even too sure how to install this and configure it on windows. I just started using Cacti a little while ago. But as stated before I still appreciate the Help.

Trying to use the following RPN Expression for a Thold, and it does not work. Am I doing this wrong - and if so, could you point me to some documentation on how to use RPN Expressions in Thold?
