One linux http server, one windows server

Post by DigitalKid »

I am very new to cacti. I search all over the forum and I can't find the answer. Hopefully. I ask in the right section :)

Let's say, I have a linux http server. However, the one I want to monitor is a windows server but it is inside the intranet. So I want to pull information from the windows server and display the graphs in the linux http server.

Linux web server machine installed the cacti but windows server doesn't. Can I do this setup? Thanks alot. 8)

sure.. that's the way I monitor around 13 win2k-servers...

you just have to enable/start the SNMP-Service on your Windows-Server and then use the host-template "Windows 2000/XP Host" to create the device within cacti..

then relax and enjoy it, how cacti gathers the data and creates those nice graphs..
