some spikekill question

Post by Heiko »

Hello,

would it possible with spikekill to just delete all spikes that are over a specific value?
When I have a graph for a network device it should kill al spikes above 60MBIT?
Or maybe target the big spikes.
Is there a way to kill all spikes that occured in October?

the first picture is the weekly chart.
the second ist the monthly.
Now I would like to just delete the spike in week 06.

When I edit other graphs it first deletes spike that are young, not the older one.

There is no option for this. I suggest a feature request at http;//bugs.cacti.net

However, both the Standard Deviation and Variance methods will normally grap things. In the next release I would look at providing more control while viewing graphs. Right now it just takes the setting from the Console->Settings page.

Hi,

i think It is now working like I want it to be.
Only problem that is left, when I use the tiny button I get an error when I dont change permissions on the rrd file.

It says :

FATAL: File '/var/www/cacti/rra/web_3_traffic_in_1228.rrd' is not writable by this account.

Can I configure this in cacti?

wont that change when we add new Graphs?
Also all the graphs already owned by cacti, I have to do a chmod o+w to get spikekill to work

For it to work, the web site must have write access to the RRDfile. If you can't muster that, there is always the command line...

mh, that means I have to a chmod to the rrd directory each time I create a new graph.
Isnt there a variable that defines the default permissions for a news graph?

You need to make the directory permissions sticky.
