RRD tool downgrade

Post by choco »

Hello Everone,

I have hit a roadblock after succesfully configuring Cacti the rrdtool version that i have is 1.3.1 and the version of cacti that i have is 0.8.7b.

If somebody could please help me with the commands to uninstall rrdtool ver 1.3.1 and then install a 1.2.x version then it would be great.

Thanks

You don't say what OS you are using.

You don't say how you installed rrdtool.

You are using an outdated version of Cacti.

Fill in those blanks and we can start to help....

Operating system: Ubuntu 9.04
Cacti version: 0.8.7b
Method of installation: sudo apt-get install cacti-cactid
which brought in the rrdtool version as well.
PHP version 5.2.6
Apache 2
mysql

Let me know what you think i should do here,

Thanks

Oh my.
Cacti as of 087* does not work with cactid. It requires spine, which is a new version of cactid. Perhaps the package maintainers used the wrong name.
Until 087e, Cacti officially does not recognize rrdtool 1.3.x and higher. But it works quite well with the exception of custom fonts. Simply use rrdtool 1.2.x settings and be happy.
Else find the rrdtool package, uninstall and re-install rrdtool 1.2.x. Don't know how this is called in your distro.
Or compile rrdtool 1.2.x on your own.
