Help needed with city WAN discovery

Post by samfoord »

Hi, Im a n00b and I really need help.

I currently use PRTG and it works well but the powers that be wont pay for the license - hence the move to cacti - I have no linux experience.

I have been trying to set this up for hours now and still getting no where!

Can someone please show me with screenshots the right settings for the auto discovery.

I am in a city WAN with hundreds of items throughout the entire network.

My network runs from 192.168.0-224.0-255.

I have got the discovery working but it is very slow although thorough and it stops before completing the entire section ie 192.168.2.*

Im sorry if my explanation is vague - Im really confused!

Any help is gratefully received.

Hmm, Discovery. I fear that is quite old. Do you have e.g. a *.csv of your devices? Then the cli scripts should help you out
