added device, but shows up as "unavailable"

New Cacti user here, and new to an installation at my new job.

I added several devices (linux hosts) to Cacti by just copying existing devices that were similar and using the same Host Template, and all the same parameters.

Must have missed something, though, because the Devices page lists all of them as Unavailable, and the Associated Graph Templates are listed but do not show "Success".

Looked through Cacti's logfile, but no mention of these servers. Read the manual for Creating Device. Is there anything I have to do on the client (Device) side?

If you are using cmd.php, they will remain unavailable until you create graphs for them. Otherwise use spine, and then availability will be checked despite the number of graphs.

Thanks, that was it. Once I poked around and added some graphs, the poller updated the status.
