weird problems with graphs

Post by gsaray101 »

I have rra defined as 1 minute 5 minute, 30 minute and 60 minute. I have cacti version 0.8.7d, rrdtool verion 1.2.25. On some of my graphs, I see data is getting truncated. One day, I'll see the data in graph, some other time, the graph seems empty for 5 minute data. This does not make sense. It is only happening with some charts. I need to know what is causing this.

I'm having the same issue, from the Cacti log, I could not see anything suspicious. Let me know if you found the solution.

The current rra settings are partly misleading. But the information sent is not complete enough to help out.
E.g. when running at a 300 sec poller interval, you should delete or at least not use the 1 min rra.
As it is possible to change the rra settings, please provide the currently used data. Then, please check the information from "rrdtool info". At least, the timespan of the wrong graph is required.

to be more specific, I have about 50 network devices which I'm monitoring their interface utilization (every 1 mins). Over time, some graphs will appear as it has just started a few ago hours. For example, yesterday, I was able to see the utilization for the past few days, and today, some of these graphs lost the historical data and started from a few hours ago. This happen randomly among the interface utilization reports, I have other cacti servers but only this server is having this funny issue.

Please verify the "rrdtool info" for that funny rrd file. And please post the timespan of the graphs that do not work correctly

I realized that the interface utilization polling interval was default to 1 min, I have changed it to 5 mins and rebuild all the data sources :( . I'm monitoring this and it seems better now :)
