how to clear a graph so it starts with fresh data

Post by biohazd »

Hi

I want to be able to clear an existing graph and have its data start fresh.

Is there anyway to do this, or do i have to delete the graph / data source and create it fresh ?

For example.
I used to have client A on switch port 1. That client has moved on, so its now allocated to client B.
So I want to wipe all client A's traffic, and have it start fresh now.

Regards
Andy

Hey,

the "safest" way I think is using "graph management", select the device. You will then get a list of all the assoicated graphs for this host. Next check on the graph you want to start over with, and choose to delete it. When asked to remove the data source as well, answer yes and recreate the graph like you are used to.

Other way is to create a new datasource and assign the graph to that new one.

Is there a way to simply delete all historical data, so i don't have to delete and recreate graphs etc ?

Sure. Simply delete the rrd file(s). Cacti will re-create it from scratch on the next polling interval.
