Major Problems after upgrade. HELP ME.

I have been running for about a year, but really don't have a lot of linux knowlege. About 2 months ago some of my graphs stopped collecting data, plus any new devices that I installed would not get collected. After doing some reading, I thought it would be a good idea to get to the latest version. Now I have a couple of problems, that I can't seem to resolve. 1.) All of my old data is gone, well at least not on the graphs. 2.) My poller is not running automatically, I did figure out how to run it manually and it seems to be working correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated, but please keep in mind I am not a very good linux user.
