Cacti whon't display any graphs for some devices?

Post by excellent »

Hi!
I installed cacti yesterday, everything whent smooth and seemed to be ok.
My Linux PC's and my HP Procurve 2626 switches all returned information ok.

But then suddenly when i tried to add my HP Procurve 2810 switches there was no graphs over the traffic on the 2810 switches.

I could snmp-walk just fine, i could retrieve portlists and VLAN names and IDs. I could choose which ports to graph, but the graph never shows.

I can see that the cacti server sens snmp info to the switch with tcpdump.

I can't figure out why the 2810 switches whon't work. Is there a known issue with that model?
Couldn't find any information on the forum when i searched.

Kind Regards
Magnus

P.s Sorry for my poor english.
D.s I forgot to mention that MRTG can show information just fine from all switches.

Hi, and thanks for your reply.
Seems to me that even if a device is able to fetch SNMP information it whont create any graphs if the status of the device is either unknown or down.

Since my device didn't answer on either ping command i didn't got any graphs drawn.

When i switched to SNMP for Device Status Detection it worked as expected.

Kind Regards
Magnus
