[Resolved] SIMILAR_DATA_SOURCES_NODUPS Issue

Post by n00b »

Hi,

I used that function to generate some graphs for a while, however, for some unknown reason it stopped working. (I did some datasources cleanup from old hosts that were not used anymore)

I get a

Code: Select all

ERROR: invalid rpn expression in: ,8,*
that matches the line where I use the special data source, my total lines.

If I use ALL_DATA_SOURCES_NODUPS it works, but it's not the result I'd like to reach. (I'm graphing In and Out and would like a total for each of them).

What could I do to isolate my issue ? I checked all my data sources, to see if one was empty, but I guess I may have an interesting bug on that one.

Any clue ?

Cheers.

Heya people.

I resolved my case by using this post :

http://forums.cacti.net/post-137115.html&highlight=
When using the SIMILAR* type stuff, it is necessary to select a data source AND a CF to instruct cacti, which "similar" data sources it should search for. Imagine a Graph using 3-4 different data sources. Which one should cacti choose without any hints?
So thanks Gandalf, and sorry for the noise, I missed that part.

Edit : (FYI)

Also how I got to that point, is that I created some new graphs for the unicast packets on the interface and for some reason the graphs with my total and similar output dropped the DC.
