superlinks 0.8 problem

folks,

after i installed the plugin architecture and the superlinks 0.8, it seems to partially work. the link come up as a new tab but int "TEXT' not in graphic tab. but, it direct you to the link you want by clicking at the text though. have any one experienced this? also, there is an error said "You need to make sure that the tab_images/ directory is writable by the user that your webserver runs as. SuperLinks cannot create the tab graphics without this change."

what should i do? i did chmod the permission on directory "tab_images" to 777 and that didn't help.
