[solved] Windows Server 2008 Disk usage

Post by tommyd »

Hi!

I have problem with monitoring disc usage on Windows 2008 servers.
Cacti version: 0.8.7e
I'm using snmp v2
Host template: Windows 2000/XP host
Data query: SNMP - Get Mounted Partitions
Result is always 0.

There are no erros when running ss_host_disk.php in script server but result is also 0

Data Query Debug Information:

Increase the snmp timeout for those devices a lot... the microsoft agent is slow for disk queries.

How hi did you have to make the timeout?

I've tried, but it didn't work for me (with windows 2k8). Maybe I try again if I have some time.

Maybe someone is having trouble along these lines also with drives in the TB's and PB's?

Regarding the 5000msec timeout issues. I've regularly seen latency > 5secs when querying hrStorage on Windows 2008R2 (with as few as 2 partitions). After simply disabling the floppy disk within device manager (who needs this anyway?), the uncached response time dropped to 60-80msecs. Thus no need to increase the timeout. Thanks to BSOD2600 for the heads up.

Add.:Keep in mind that this will alter the SNMP indexing.
